- EVENT: Vaggeyakara Vaibhavamu Dasa Sankeerthana National Competitions 2021
- EVENT DATE(S): JUNE 26 – 27, 2021
- ELIGIBILITY: 1st and 2nd place winners in Regional Competitions
NATIONAL COMPETITION GUIDELINES:
- PARTICIPATION BY ELIGIBILITY ONLY. NO REGISTRATION NEEDED AND NO FEES.
- This is a 100% ONLINE event
- Keerthanas in only Carnatic Classical style are allowed. Movie tunes will not be entertained.
- This is a solo competition. Group participation is not allowed.
- Participant can choose any one of the Sri.Annamacharya, Sri.Ramadasu or Sri.Purandara Dasu Keerthanas
- ONLY ONE registration per participant allowed.
- Prizes are only by age group. There are NO individual prizes for each Vaggeyakara.
- Only ‘Sruthi box’ accompaniment allowed. (No tracks or other instruments)
- Participants will get 6 minutes max. for KRITHI rendition and 2 minutes max. for embellishments, a total of 8 mins for performance.
- Embellishments could Aalapana, Swara Kalpana, Slokam, Ugabhoga etc. BUT SHOULD NOT EXCEED 2 MINS
- YES. Embellishments in itself should not exceed 2 mins
- Even if the krithi is only 5 mins, you CANNOT use 3 mins for embellishments. It is still 2 minutes max.
- Judges may deduct marks if time is exceeded
- Participants can choose to sing any Annamayya, Purandara Dasu or Ramadasu keerthana of their choice.
- Participants can repeat the same song from regional competition or sing a different song
- Participants will be tested on Sruthi, Laya, Sahithyam, Melody and Overall Presentation.
- Participants should be in “South Indian Traditional Dress”
- Participants may be asked to stop if the max. allotted time is exceeded and/or marks may be deducted.
- Judges decision is FINAL for all competitions.
- ONLY 1ST AND 2ND PLACE WINNERS FROM REGIONAL COMPETITIONS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN NATIONALS.
Technology GUIDELINES:
- It is highly recommended to use a good quality headset for the performance.
- Use a plain wall or a saree as a background for the performance.
- Participant should place the camera such that judges should able to see the face and talam clearly.
- It is recommended to use an electronic tanpura (sruthi box) instead of a phone to avoid distractions during performance.
- Make sure the sruthi is audible but not too loud.
- Make sure you have good internet connection with good bandwidth.
- IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO TEST YOUR SET UP BEFORE THE ACTUAL PERFORMANCE.
